Research Initiatives

  • Population Policy Analysis: Examining the demographic trends and the impact on the economy. The policy serves to initiate government directions for a healthy population ( In review)
  • The National Gender Policy: Examining Trends in Gender issues and gender behavior. The Policy targets to mainstream gender in all National Policies.
  • Social Impact Assessment: (SIA) The systematic process used to evaluate the potential social effects of a proposed project, policy, or program. It aims to identify, predict, and mitigate negative impacts while enhancing positive outcomes for affected communities.
Purpose

The primary objectives of SIA include:

  1. Understanding Community Dynamics: Assessing how a project will affect local populations, including their social structures, culture, and livelihoods.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Involving communities, local authorities, and other stakeholders in the assessment process to ensure their voices are heard and considered.
  3. Mitigation Strategies: Developing actionable recommendations to minimize adverse social impacts and enhance positive benefits.
