This past Friday 24th October 2024, our elderly homes community came alive with the spirit of celebration of the creole festival, highlighted by a delightful Tiffin event organized for our beloved elderly residents, an initiative of the Plaisance Elderly homes.
The Sea front Restaurant atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and the enticing aroma of delicious food, bringing all elderly homes under the care of the Family Department together in a heartwarming gathering.
A Festive Gathering
The venue was strikingly decorated with kapatyas hanging along the beams of the hall, in reminiscence of the older days, the childhood days of the elderly residents. A preparation, which kept the elderly at their respective homes during the week towards the event.

Rocking The Floor At Sea Front Restaurant
Moreover, the live creole band music immediately set the tone for celebration, with the elderly hitting the floor with their best moves as soon as dessert had settled down in their stomachs.
Culinary Delights
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the food. A diverse array of traditional dishes were prepared, the Tiffin event brimming with flavors that transported attendees back to cherish. The guests excited to spend a day away from the homes enjoyed the delicacies, in a delightful moment of catching up with each other.
A Sense of Belonging
The Tiffin event provided more than just a meal; it created a space for connection and camaraderie among attendees. The smiles, laughter, and warm conversations filled the room, demonstrating the power of community spirit.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication of our the Programme Unit team and Plasiance Ederly Home Administrator Ms. Celine Baccus, who worked tirelessly to set up, serve, and ensure that everyone felt welcome. Their enthusiasm and commitment to making the day special were evident in every detail.
Looking Forward
As the evening, and event drew to a close, attendees left with full hearts and happy bellies, tired legs of rocking the floor and were already looking forward to the next gathering. This Tiffin event was a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and connection, especially during such a time of the creole week festival.
